When I first started working with Janet, I had just finished my PhD and had a year of employment before I would have to find a new job. Having never thought much about what a career was or what I wanted mine to be, my job-hunting decisions were based on whether I met specific selection criteria, rather than thinking about whether they were jobs that would help me develop my career. Janet introduced me to many different tools to help me think about my career; encouraged me to go and talk to people in different careers to learn more and helped me understand how my specific skill set distinguishes me from other job-hunters. It has been a really rewarding experience and I am now more confident about job-hunting and more knowledgeable about those jobs will fit into my longer-term career.
